About the Project

This website is a project of the Buchenwald Memorial (Department for the History of the Buchenwald Concentration Camp). The information presented here about the subcamps is based on research conducted by the Buchenwald Memorial and, where available, on an evaluation of the cited scholarly literature.

The content does not claim to provide a complete picture of the history of the respective camps. Rather, it is intended as basic information to serve as an introductory guide. If you have any information about errors or have photos, documents, or information that you would like to share with us, please feel free to contact the curator for the history of the Buchenwald concentration camp, Dr. Michael Löffelsender.

We would like to thank all the archives, initiatives, and individuals who have provided documents and photos, as well as all the publishers for their permission to reprint selected memoirs. We have made every effort to identify copyright holders. If anyone feels that they have been overlooked, we ask for your understanding and kindly request that you send us a short message.
